I am obsessed with buying baby clothes for 3 1/2 month old daughter. Is that normal? Is anyone else?
My daughter has so many clothes in so many sizes. I have an 18 mo old niece and get hand me downs plus I buy stuff all the time but I really don’t need. Little girl clothes are soooo cute.

The way I put it
"I look like crap… but my kid looks good!"
I haven’t spent any money on myself since I found out I was pregnant with my son
There’s a children’s consignment in my town, and they sell designer and upscale children’s clothing, some of it resale.
I got my son a bunch of clothes, some of them are Juicy Couture Baby, and C&C california.
For less than Carter’s clothes!
So, these days, I look like a train wreck.
But my kid is smokin’
Haha.
Haha I have the same obsession
My son’s 16 months and I don’t think I’ve bought a thing for myself since he was born, but instead buy him a ridiculous amount of clothes (and all from stores that are overpriced). It makes me so happy though.
I’ve said on multiple occasions to my hubby that he’s lucky we didn’t have a girl… because when I walk into babyGap I stand there drooling over the little girl’s clothes.
its ok
its nice
but its useless
all clothes get wasted as the child grows
so buy as per your budget
your spending may make the baby cute
may not be so cool for your husbands heart as the household budget swings away
speacially with the meltdown
I did the same thing and ended up with way too much. I started buying for my 2 yr old niece too because I knew I’d get them handed down to my daughter. Girls clothes are fun to buy. I bought on Ebay as well and got some great deals on new stuff.
its totally normal i feel that way too i love buying baby clothes but i don’t buy as much anymore because my daughter seems to outgrow them very quickly so its a waste but when she gets older we are gonna have so much fun shopping lol
I so did that at first. I just couldn’t help it. Now that we’re having financial issues I have to limit myself to mostly just looking
i always said i should’ve had a crack habit – it’d be cheaper!
I use to go over board with buying clothing for my daughter when she was a tiny baby, in her first year she accumulated over two 78 quart plastic boxes worth of clothes, however once she reached a year i started to buy less, don’t get me wrong she still has lots of clothes but now at 20 months old she doesn’t grow as fast so she is able to wear what she has for longer periods of time, plus she only goes through one outfit a day, where as when she was a tiny baby she would go through two or three outfits a day
yes baby girl clothes are adorable and that’s why i have saved all of my daughters clothes just in-case i get another baby girl
Your not alone! My husband got mad at me once because I went shopping for baby clothes with a credit card… ( i think you know where it’s going…)
I also get hand-me-downs from my friend ['s baby] but haven’t used many of them. I love going through the stores and getting home and putting them on my kids!
haha i’m 22 weeks along and have resisted the temptation to buy baby clothes yet… i’m hoping to find out the gender next week at my ultrasound so that may make the temptation harder to resist ! lol
I am cheap though and sort of on a budget, so while I will surely buy some new items, i’m also looking on used websites to buy bags of clothes from people…. people much like yourself hehe …
congrats and take care
Sure, but think how quickly she will grow out of those clothes and that a 3 1/2 month old really doesn’t have to make a great impression out in society! I would save my money right now. Things are tough out there and there maybe something your kids need more than clothes. Anyways, I hope you have relatives you can give the clothes too! I got lots of really nice hand me downs for my son when he was a baby and it really helped me out! Maybe the shopping helps relieve the stress of caring for two baby girls! You must have your hands full and probably are exhausted! Just wait till they are teenagers!!!! Ha ha!
my husband doesn’t let me got to the baby section of stores alone i can’t seem to come out just with diapers some how clothes jump in the cart. they just make baby clothes sooo cute now that my older daughter and my son have big kid clothes (there 7 and 10) its not quite as fun to shop for them that and my son never likes what i buy him any way he always wants lose jeans and big t shirts and my older daughter wants nothing but high school musical and hannah montana. so in short what i am saying is enjoy shopping for your little one sooner than you like it will become unfun
i’m addicted.
I really cant stay clear of baby sections no matter what store I go to.
Even if I’m at a grocery store=| its bad.
Its normal to me anyways:) lol, im sure its normal to other mothers as well. Sometime I would even go shopping just to go to the baby section.
Good luck, I’m slowly quitting my addicition took me a year now. 12 step program against baby stuff who would’ve thought?! haha
