How soon before your baby starts really playing with toys.?

A lot of these toys i’ve gotten show this kid playing with these toys, like the dinosaur from fisher price and a bunch of other games and they say 3 months and up? Heck my baby way over 3 months now and going on 4 and can’t figure out how the dinosaur thing works, and can barely put all the rings on the ring toss. Should I be worried?
About his slow development. Everyone i’ve talke to said their children started crawling about 4 months. He can barely sit up by himself…and even rolling over is a struggle.

No dont be in a hurry. Your baby is only 4 months. At 4 months a baby cant put rings and all. All that happens at 6+ months.
For now, he should be playing with rattles, soft toys. Playing here means getting excited looking at it, trying to put it in his mouth or just hold it.
Dont go totally by what is written on the toy box, they are only recommended age meaning you can introduce your child to that toy by holding him in your lap and play with him where you will actually be putting the blocks and baby enjoying it. slowly baby will mimmic what you are doing.
Some of the toys my 4 month old plays are rattles, soft books, musical toys, soft toys.
If it says 3 mts and up it should be fine also try soft books and soft blocks things that can help the baby’s development there are also soft trucks and stuff if the age on the toy is age appropriate then the toy should be fine good luck
Well, my ten week old will hold a rattle for a little while, but she does it at her side like it’s too much to hold up, lol. Then she’ll wave it in front of her face and freak out cause she doesn’t know what it is or what it’s doing there. I know the ages seem misleading, it has a lot to do with your child’s personality. I got the spin and explore garden gym set from Lamaze, it says birth and up but my brat was so not ready for it until recently. She’s still getting used to it and being on her tummy. All children develop differently and some toys I think are there for children to look at, eventually they’ll get curious and go try to figure it out. Try showing your little one how to use them, over and over again, then they learn how to do it. Good luck!
when a toy gives an age (such as 3 months and up) it means that toy is safe for a child that age….not that they will necessarily play with it ……..and remember that all babies develop differently, and its really noticeable as babies because they develop so quickly. take it from a mother of 4 …….your baby will catchup , and ifyour concerned talk toyour doctor. as long as your baby is doing all the things on their checklist when you go for your checkups they will tell you all is well………my oldest said her first word at 7 months and didnt walk till 16 months…..my 3rd was walking at 9 months but did not say a single word until almost 18 months……..both are completely normal for their age now (they are 4 and 6)
My son started rolling at almost 5 months and my daughter didn’t start until she was 6 months. My daughter is not slow she learned over 150 word in sign language and could speak in 8 word sentences when she was 12 months. Remember your kid is an individual. He will start playing when he is ready. Only worry when your Pediatrician tells you too!!!

I’m not sure who you talked to, but it is not common for a four month old to crawl and fairly uncommon for them to sit completly unsupported at four months. It is also not yet a problem if they aren’t quite rolling at this age. All babies develop differently and, if your baby’s pediatrician isn’t concerned and he is in the normal range for development, you don’t need to worry (although it’s hard).
As far as playing with toys, most 4 month-olds will grab things and try to bring them to their mouths. As I said, development depends on the baby and his temperment. Early development does not indicate a smarter baby.
Talk to your pediatrician. She has seen hundreds of babies and can assess your baby and either suggest how to help or simply ease your mind.
