honestly i dont even have bedding for my sons crib i just have a sheet to cover the mattress, but i dont think its a big deal if the mobile dosent match the other bed sets.
youll need 3 sheets. and when the kid pees or throws up on it.. you wont care about the print or color.
I have one bedding set but lots of sheets. I use about 3 a week. There is no need to buy all the sets.
get the set and then a bunch of matching coloured plain fitted sheets for the mattress. Techincally for the first while you aren’t supposed to even use the comforter and since the winter is coming I would suggest several bunting bags to keep the baby warm and fleece snugglies over the pj’s too!
buy one set and three-four extra sheets that match. easy.
You could get other solid color sheets that would match everything. Or even a light pattern that looks close enough. I have to say we have Classic Pooh as our baby’s nursery theme (pale colors). Well for some odd reason I registered for & got a white sheet with brown & pink polka dots. And it doesn’t match at all but I thought it was cute. It’s on the mattress now. Doesn’t bother me any. Cute.
I was advised you just need one crib bedding set, and to get many sets of sheets. So, thats what my hubby and I were planning to do. Get a few sets of sheets in our theme and then others that are just plain in color to match it. That way you don’t need to worry about things matching!
Interested in seeing what others say though, as this is my first pregnancy!
You should really have 3 sets of bedding because you may have a night where you’ll need to change the bedding twice. At which time, it will not matter if the mobile matches or not!
If you are having company then make sure then that you have the matching stuff on the crib.
Good luck

i think you’re crazy if you do that. you dont need to buy a themed bed set everytime you change the sheets
They say you only need 3 sheets, but honestly, there are going to be days your baby will go through more than that in one day (especially in the early days) or before you can get the laundry done. I would say you need about 5-10 fitted sheets. I have 5 and I probably would have gone crazy if I had any less. Other than that all you need multiples of bedding wise is receiving blankets (you’ll find a lot more uses for them than just as blankets).
Invite enough people to the shower, and you won’t have to buy any.
I would only purchase one set, and 3 or 4 sheets. You won’t be needing anything in the set really until the baby is older since blankets increase SIDS and now a lot of people are against bumper pads too. So I think it would be silly to get more than one, and noone cares if the mobiles match.
I bought one set:

Then bought 2 of these (not exactly but this is an idea):

That gave me 3 total which is plenty.
Just 1 and a few sheets in case baby gets sick or diaper leaks. It doesn’t matter if the mobile doesn’t match. No one will care. Bedding is expensive anyway. You can buy other things for her.
I bought 1 bedding set and just have different sheets…don’t worry about the mobile not matching or the curtains/valence..no one cares (except maybe you)….they are so expensive (the sets)….but sheets are fairly cheap
Zero. If you must have the set, just buy extra plain sheets in whatever color matches best. When the diaper leaks in the middle of the night, or your baby has the stomach flu, you will not care whether or not the sheets match the mobile.
Take it from a vet budget mom. Don’t go get the comforter set. Get some breathable bumpers. One set is enough, then a mattress cover or two. I recommend two that way if one is dirty you can have another on while it’s washing. Then two deep pocket sheets (same wash principle). You’ll either swaddle her or dress her warmly otherwise. You don’t want to give them blankets or comforters because they are a breathing hazard. Use the $ u save for a cute mobile.
the baby doesn’t care what her room looks like! decorating a baby’s room is just for us, the parents. anyone who comes to visit and checks out the nursery probably won’t even notice if the crib sheet doesn’t match the rest of the decor – especially another mom, who will automatically understand that things can’t match all the time.
think about how often you plan on doing laundry and buy crib sheets accordingly. if you only have 2 then you’re going to be doing lots of small loads just so you can wash and dry the sheet that just came off so it’s ready to go back on again whenever needed. for one baby i would recommend at least 3 crib sheets (one to use, one for emergency and one more for "just in case".
and the comforter that comes with the whole package? don’t put that in the crib – it’s a suffocation hazard, especially for a baby that doesn’t roll over or lift up her head yet.
i would only buy one for now and match it all up, you have plenty of years for her to pickk out her own….it’s just too much work for me to have to change out the whole room with an infant to take care of….jmho
