How many clothes do you have for your toddler?
I have a son who just turned one. I buy almost all of his clothes second hand and don’t spend over 50c for each item, so I can afford to fully stock his closet. I only like to do laundry every other week or so. But then for his birthday, our family got him a lot of clothes too. Here’s what we have for him to wear while he’s 12 to 18 months, which will last him from now (winter) through summer:
4 pairs of jeans and 7 pairs of other pants in 12-18. He still wears 9-12 months though right now, and we have 13 pairs of pants and 6 pairs of jeans in that size
6 long sleeve onesies, which I mainly use as undershirts in the winter
9 long sleeve shirts as well as 7 sweatshirts (plus he can still wear his 12 month stuff, which he has 17 long sleeve shirts)
8 short sleeve onesies, 8 short sleeved shirts, 7 t-shirts with matching shorts, 11 other pairs of shorts, a pair of swim trunks, 5 summer one-piece outfits, 8 tank tops
7 pairs of footed PJs
A windbreaker and a light jacket
One pair of tennis shoes and one pair of sandals which hopefully will fit him this summer!
Crazy, right?! So how much do you have?

Sounds good to me. Not to much. Its always good to be prepared. I also shop sales, consignment stores etc…never buy anything regular price unless absolutely necessary. His closet is jammed pack along with his dresser. I think its become an obsession with me. Along with books. Liam has over 500 books…all second hand.
I can’t say that I’ve ever counted my kid’s clothes, lol, but we have been blessed with a closet full as well. I’m a bargain shopper – thrift stores, yard sales, hand me downs, etc. are AWESOME and that’s where well over half of my kids clothes have come from. Their grandmothers and aunts love to buy them clothes as well. I’ve been pretty lucky not to have had to spend much money on clothing. It’s nice to be able to have a lot to pass on to family, friends, and others that can use it when they grow out of it, too:-)
Oh, if you think THAT’S a lot, you haven’t seen my daughter’s closet…
never counted ‘em! buying 2nd hand is the wisest decision you can make at this age.
I don’t think that’s too much.
I have alot for my daughter too:
8 pairs of jeans
7 cotton pants with matching hoodies
17 long sleeve shirts
3 hoodies
5 skirts
10 pairs of tights
3 winter coats
4 spring/fall coats
12 pairs of shoes in size 4
she’s wearing 12-18 months at the moment
*i’m going off memory…so it’s not 100% accurate, i may be forgetting a few items*
My kids have a LOT of clothes too. My sisters, friends and I all alternate using kids clothes (if they are still in good shape), so between birthday’s, Christmas, and alternating clothes- I buy very little clothes for them.
My kids have similar clothing amounts to what you have, their closets and packed, so it might be a little more. I don’t think it’s crazy, I think it’s nice to be able to dress them differently every day.
