How long do babies stay in Newborn clothes?

I have a ton of newborn clothes and people keep telling me that I’ll only use them for about a week.

my daughter never fit in new born clothes. so i wasted a lot of money on buying them but oh well.

Many babies never fit "newborn" sizes at all. All of my children were born over 9lbs, so newborn clothes never fit them. Preemies can typically wear newborn clothes for a couple months or so, but most average weight babies barely wear them at all. Maybe a month…. at the very most. Most newborn clothes are for babies "under 8 lbs", so…. like I said, most babies never wear them at all.
really depends on how big your baby is.
i never bought newborn clothes i just bought 0-3 month size at first. my son weighed 7lbs at birth and he was swimming in that size. he quickly grew out of them and was on to the next.
if you really want to buy new born sizes i wouldnt buy too many. maybe a newborn sized outfit to bring him/her from the hospital in.
Depends on the baby. Some are literally born too big for newborn clothes, others can wear them a few months.
Not long at all unless the baby is a preemie. My son weighed 7 Ibs and 9 oz at birth and he wore his for about 3 weeks. They are really a waste of money, the 0-3 months may be a little big at first but they grown into them fast.
Depends on the baby. My boys never fit in the newborn sizes, they went straight to 0-3 months. They were 9+ lbs at birth.
It depends on their birthweight and brand of clothing.
My son was 8lbs at birth and he remained in newborn clothes from most stores for about 2 weeks. I didn’t have many newborn clothes — most things were 0-3 months which did last longer but didn’t fit as well right in the beginning.
my son wore nb size for around 2 months. I hadnt bought any thinking he was going to be too big so I went out an found a few outfits… I say have one outfit to take to the hospital to bring him home in and then go from there and see what size he needs, every baby is different.
I think its depends on the baby.
But when my little brother was born he never even fit into Newborn clothes, he went straight into 0 – 3 months and my nephew was only in Newborn for a couple of weeks.
my daughter was in them for about 6 or 7 weeks, and is still wearing 0-3 months. shes smaller and long and skinny. Each child is different, My neice was never in newborn and in 0-3 for only a few weeks.

Not long so don’t buy alot of them. My son came home 7 pounds and 14 ounces when he was born. He was in newborn size about 10 days and then we had to use 0- 3 months sizes and some 3-6 months on him and go up to size 1 diapers.
We’re expecting our second in June and I’ll probably pick up a coming home outfit for 0-3 months and a couple sleepers the same size because with the things left from my son that I have they’ll be lucky to wear everything once before they outgrow it. We’ve even told people that want to buy things to buy nuetrally right now since we don’t know what we’re having yet gender wise. We’ve also told them to buy 3-6 months and 6-9 months.

all baby’s are different though so
you never really know.
My baby was 6.13 lb at birth and now, almost three weeks later is still wearing his newborn size clothes, but I guess this will be the last week. You should buy only few nb outfit so that your baby can look really cute in them but you won’t be to disappointed when you’ll have to get rid of them.

Really it all depends on the child. Some babies NEVER fit newbron clothes. My daughter was fairly small, so she was in them for a while & in 0-3 months clothing for months. But some babies can not fit them from day one. Thats why they say not to buy tons of small sizes, just in case.
