How do I stop my dog from always wanting to sleep in the crib with are newborn baby?
We have a 3lb chuauaua and it likes to sleep with the baby in the crib ………Is this normal?

Yeah, you definitely want to keep the dog out of the crib. It’s actually a suffocation risk for young infants because they don’t have the neck strength to turn their head if the dog is pressed up against their little face.
I would suggest shutting (and latching) the door to the baby’s room. Or you can get a safety gate and set it up in the doorway…either one should keep the dog out. If not, then crating the dog at night would be your best option.
Cute as it may be, it’s just not safe.
That is so precious!
it’s cute. But I don’t think it’s good for the kid or the dog.
lol…cool.
smack him everytime he gets near to the crib
lock him up somewhere when the baby is sleeping…that’s not good
I think if you let it sleep with you then it doesn’t know the difference form a little person to a big one if you don’t want it in there you should shut the door or find a way to keep it out like put it in a sleep pen.
You can get a Crib Canopy, which is basically a domed netted lid for the crib that is reinforced with metal tubes. They sell them at Babies R Us for about $49.00. A little on the expensive side, but certainly worth it.
I checked the instructions on mine, and it says that it can handle up to 5lbs of pressure.
It unclips from one side for getting baby in and out safely.
You can get mesh to go over cribs to keep cats out, should work for a chuauaua
Thats not good at all.The dog was the baby before the baby came so he thinks he can still act like one.I would afraid of him laying on the baby while its sleeping or something or biting it.I don’t care if you don’t think the dog will or not.The dog you have is known to get mean after it gets a little older. You need to get a kennel or something to put him when you sleep and the baby sleeps.Or get rid of him.Your baby should always come before a pet.
sounds like the dog is being protective over the baby but its not a good idea. means the dog is dominant.
Get a cage and lock it up at night, may be put a lil soft pillow in there with it. And it’s not good for it to sleep with the baby. How many months is the baby?
you should just put him in his own dog house and tie a leash to hol him there.
How the heck does a dog get up there? I can see a cat jumping that high.
Have the dog sleep in a crate if you don’t want it in bed with the newborn.
I don’t see a problem unless the baby is allergic to the dog or if the dog bites the baby. I have a bichon frise who slept and protected every single one of my infant nephews and godson. He would charged at anyone going after the babies especially their parents so I would have to get them away from him before I handed them off to their parents – that was my only problem. He tolerated them pulling on his fur. I eventually would have to keep him out of the babies’ sleeping area by separating him from them with a baby gate.
That is probably your dogs protective side coming out. I wouldn’t let your dog sleep with your baby because this could cause allergies for you baby and if the dog sleeps too close your baby could suffocate. I would just shut your babies door and not let your dog in.
Build a doghouse. Dogs do not belong in bed with babies.
