How do I ask for receipts from the baby shower?
I rcv’d a lot of the same thing, meaning a lot of baby bibs, onesies and zip ups and also a lot of bibs. I do not need that many and would like to rtn them for things that I would use.
How do I tactfully ask for the rcpts? In this day and age anything that I need to rtn needs a rcpt. Very frustrating.

I wish that they would take the items back without receipts.
Target would not let me return without a receipt. But they will let you use your license 2 times to return items within a years time but it seems that I have used up those 2 times.
K-Mart has a no receipt no return policy also.
I do have Wal-Mart items to return. They still have part of the green price sticker on the items so I don’t believe that that will be a problem.
From what I researched Kohl’s, J C Penney and Babies R us are all ok without a receipt.

It’s not somethiing I would even consider. These are items you would not have if not for the generosity of the givers. If you are unable to return items, either save them for "just in case", donate them, or re-gift them later.
The store will take it back for exchange or store credit w/o receipts. It’s just rude to ask the person who gave you the gift. did you register before shower? If not it’s your fault. If so that sucks. But I seriously think the store will give you store credit as long as tags are on. ♥ Congrats on your pregnancy♥
I don’t think that there is any tactful way to do it…if you ask for a receipt, it’s obvious that you are returning their item, and that will really hurt the person’s feelings.
Try selling them on eBay…
i dont think its exactly a good idea… you will need a lot of those things!!! then you dont have to do laundry every day at least once lol. i think that you keep them, if not try to take them back to the store, such as babys r us, which carry a lot of baby stuff (if they come in little packages and still have tags on it) and they should let you exchange it for something else. heck you could call people to find the store and say that you really liked it and was just curious where they got it, then it wouldn’t be an insult or anything else.
go to walmart. They dont need reciepts. Also target, will let you exchange, but not return.
Just explain to that person that u received the same things and if its ok to get a receipt to get something different….

fit the baby and if the baby not here yet say i don’t like the color it worked for me
I would keep the bibs and onesies. You need tons of them for your new baby. Though unless you have a very very large amount or all in the same size, then return them for other sizes. I would just say to yours friends that you would like the receipts, as you recieved tons of the same items and would wish to exchange some of the items.
don’t do that you will be surprised at how fast your baby will dirty clothes and bibs you need alot more than you think. don’t ask for receipts that’s rude and tacky
If the stuff still has tags on it, you should be able to take it back to the store it was purchased at, without a receipt. and you can get a merchandise credit. For generic things like a package of onesies, that doesn’t say where it is from, try big places like Target, Wal Mart, or Babies R Us. If they carry that item, they let you exchange it, with out a receipt.
But I wouldn’t ask anyone for a receipt, there is no tactful way to ask that, and you don’t want to hurt anyone’s feelings, when they just spent money on you.

You don’t, because it is rude. A gift is a gift, you accept it with a smile and say thank-you.
This must be your 1st child…because you will so use those things. Believe me!!
For items like that I don’t think you should be asking…they could be re-gifts or they got them awhile back.
If it’s a big ticket item or an outfit that looks pricey I would ask for a receipt…just tell them.."Just in case".
Otherwise, don’t sweat the small stuff sweetheart.
just take it back and get a store credit, which is usually good for a year
