How difficult is it to move your child from a crib to a toddler bed?

My twins are almost two and have learned how to climb into each others cribs. Sometimes they fall on the floor when they do this, so I’m thinking toddler bed time. Should I give them seperate beds, or should they share a queen bed? They shared a crib until they were 7 or 8 months and would fit any more.
Do you think it would be harder with one bed or two? And do you think if they are in the same room still that it will even be possible to keep them in their beds at all? How do I even attempt this?

When my twin daughters were babies I bought them seperate cribs, but they never would sleep unless they were together in the same crib. Then, when they were older, I bought seperate toddler beds. And guess what… they kept climbing into each other’s beds! So finally I ended up pushing the beds together.
Eventually, I realized that what they really wanted was to sleep together (duh! Don’t know why it took me so long to figure out… maybe it was sleep deprivation or something!) After that, we just set up a hand-me-down double bed in their room and they were happy as clams. They cuddled together every night in their sleep.
Now that they’re almost teenagers, my daughters do have their own beds, but I still sometimes find them having a "sleepover" in one or the other’s bed.
Get them their own child beds but dont worry too much if they want to share. They will grow out of it eventually and will have separate bed that they can use. I personally wouldnt go for a queen size bed.
They should have their own beds, but don’t be surprised if they still crawl into each others bed for comfort. This is very natural with twins, but they do each need their own defined space. Let them sleep together and don’t stress over it.

yes let them share the same bed… even if there not in the crib they will still want to sleep w/ eachother!

I’d buy each child their own bed with the thing they "like best". So, one gets a princess and another gets all pink. Point out that "their" bed is a special bed. Try to spend time getting in and out of their special bed. Try to make it fun and a place that’s theirs. They will like not having to share something, I imagine
It shouldn’t be that difficult unless you make it difficult. Seperate beds is the way to start, however, they’ll end up sleeping together anyway. But atleast they’ll understand that the second bed is for the sibling. I have a 3 yr old and 8 yr old boys and they still sleep together unless they’ve been fighting. Good Luck!
I’d just let them share a bed. When they are ready to be independent, then they can have their own.
I hated when my toddler started climbing out. I freaked!
Get two beds (twin or toddler) decorated differently based on their personalities and taste and start out with the beds pushed together in the beginning. They will eventually sleep in their own beds.
Decorating them differently will make each ones bed special. If you start with the beds pushed together and say that they have to stay in their own beds it should be a little easier. Get those rails for the outer edges or start them with mattresses on the floor.
If you did a queen bed you would eventually have to get new beds anyway.

Provided that they have a good sleeping routine, i.e. they go to bed and settle down to sleep fairly well. I always found that a bath, drink, put to bed, tell a story, kiss goodnight and then lights out usually worked well. I transferred my girls from crib to bed at the age of two but they were not twins (two years difference). I told them that they were grown up and only babies sleep in cribs – it was their choice to sleep in a bed. Good luck.
It’s okay to buy them separate beds. They both need to learn how to sleep in their own beds anyways, they are old enough.
My first daughter never slept in a crib and she adjusted to her
own full size bed. My second daughter was scared of the dark
at birth. this was the first for me to see how an infant can seriously be scared of the dark, so I purchased a night light to
put above her crib, from a crib at the age of 1 she had her own toddler bed and she adjusted just fine. My 2 grand-daughters
had their own crib until the age of 9 months and now one is 3
and the other is 11 months old and they both share a bedroom
and they both adjusted just fine. Their room is child proof safe.
They are old enough to get 2 separate bed, they can a just over night, throw in a night light and they are happy. Child proof is a must. This way when they are playing in their room together you
don’t have to worry about fall off a crib. You might want to check
to see if they don’t start jumping on the beds though. Boys can
be a little rough, then girls. So don’t worry, They are big boys
and pretty soon your going to have another question when they
are ready to start school.
