I don’t think shoes are completely necessary until the child is walking. BUT if you have a non walker and they aren’t in an infant carrier anymore and it’s cold outside (like i do right now!) then YES i think they should have shoes on. It is 30′s and 40′s right now where i live and my daughter doesn’t use the infant carrier anymore where i can just stick a blanket over her when we go out, so she always has shoes on! Heat escapes through the feet!
As for good shoes, i LOVE Pediped! My daughter curls her toes and these are the only shoes she will let me put on without a fight. http://www.pediped.com/Product/CategoryInfo.aspx?cid=52
You can go to any shoe store and have the sales person measure your child’s foot.
I use them when he’s in the pram to help keep his feet warm. I think they come in age sizes, e.g. 0-3 months. I don’t think they need them, but I got some as presents. I’ve never bought them.
Socks do a better job of keeping feet warm. But baby shoes are so darn cute! They aren’t meant to be practical. Get the ones that have elastic, so they can stretch a little; babies grow so fast.
Yes they are necessary! They keep the baby’s feet warm. You go into a shoe store and have someone measure their feet and get the necessary size. Yes I use them! My little girl gets cold if I don’t have them on her!
For pictures sure otherwise its a waste of money. Baby’s grow so fast that the baby will prolly use the shoes for a whole week. Socks is the way to go if your worried about cold feet.
Soft soled shoes until they can run.
Measure their feet at the shoe store.
they arent necessary but cute. i bought our newborn a cute pair of boots, tho she wore them like a few times and they are too small being 0-3 she got some use of them. i just bought em cuz they were adorable. i think it helps keep their feet warm with socks yes. i dont always put shoes on ours tho. just when we go places
We have bout 2 pairs of 0-3 months (both are to big and fall off her feet when she wiggles) They are just so cute i couldn’t help it! and after having 2 boys i can’t help but buy lovely pink things!
The only time she has them on is when we take photos.
but they are so cute!
I do not
well they just keep feet warm, thats it. no other use , size depends on the age kike from 0, 0-3 and onwards
No, not necessary until they are walking, but they can help to keep the feet warm in the winter (although nice thick socks can do just as good a job). Make sure they have soft soles (leather or fabric) so they don’t affect foot formation (hard soled or high tops are not recommended because they can change the foot shape and impede proper development). The sizes are like clothing, they go by age (eg 0-3m, 6-12m etc) but you have to use your own discretion, some sizes are off.
I try to avoid using them as much as possible. We have a pair he wears for when it’s really cold, and a friend just gave me some boots (more like fur lined "mittens" for feet) that I think I’ll start using instead.
They are not necessary. You can use them or socks to keep feet warm (or use footie pjs or blanket sleepers). Baby shoes usually go by age but any shoe store should be able to help you find the correct size. For babies, shoes are mainly just for looks. If you have the extra money and you want your baby to wear shoes, then buy them. Some experts say that a baby should be barefoot when learning to walk. If you choose to have your just learning to walk baby wear shoes then they should be supportive but flexible. I only used shoes on by babies for pictures, church, and special occasions until they were walking real good and when they were walking outside.
Infants do not need shoes until they begin walking.
They are not necessary. Socks are to keep their feet warm, Shoes are too look cute. Often they are quite hard and can hurt the newborns feet.
You can go to a shoe store to get them measured for shoes. It depends on the age you are talking about whether or not they "need" shoes, but before walking the answer is no, they don’t need them. Socks are just fine for keeping feet warm, and preferred since they are softer.
