There’s a lot of creeps and pervs out there, huh!?!
So this is what I’d do. We all know the "major modeling agency" names…Ford, Wilhelmina, Casablanca, etc. So I’d call them and say "do you represent child models?" and if they do not, then ask them "who would you recommend?", and take it from there.
I worked for Casablanca back in the day, I dont remember any child model management but things couldve changed. Whatever you do, rememeber this—-a TRUE LEGITIMATE AGENT will not ask YOU for money to REPRESENT YOU. They make money WHEN THEY BOOK YOU.
Good luck and I hope for the best for you and your child—it can be a great experience– and put quite a bit of $ away for a rainy day as well as Harvard!
Sorry sweetie but your kid isnt ever going to be in a gap ad or old navy or whatever.
I am in the entertainment business, as an actress and this one agent I know says the only way to get your child into modelling is to either be a star already, know a star who knows someone, or know a gap CEO.
Alot of those kids you see in Gap ads or whatever are usually relatives of someone who works higher up in the gap world.
Most of them arent even full time child models, just called upon when needed…I mean havent you noticed that even some of the kids in the ads arent really that pretty or cute, almost regular…thats why.
Other than that, if you still want to try this…GET AN AGENT!
DO NOT go to a modelling agency, they only want your money and your childs picture will get to hang on a wall with a hundred other pictures of born suckers.
You need to get an agent, that is the most important thing you need.
