So I love to shop for my toddler & he grows so fast which is great because more shopping! I like to get him nice stuff, and I was wondering if there is a certain time/month or something where say winter jackets would be the cheapest, summer clothes would be the cheapest, etc., etc. For example, I would assume that winter jackets aren’t selling like hotcakes during the summer, so they would be cheaper to buy then. Is this accurate? Is there a more precise time, like a month, in which they would be the cheapest? I do a lot of shopping online as well. It just got me wondering when I just saw a super cute Hurley hoodie marked down from to online. The retail world has to have a schedule…who knows it???
Hi! I am fairly fit, which most people would "think" would be a great thing when it comes to shopping, right? Its not! Im 5’6", averaging about 120lbs, which makes me a comfortable Misses size 0, but usually I end up having to buy misses size 2 (because its all I can find). If its a skirt, where length isnt a huge concern, Ill go to the petite section to the 2 is a little smaller than the regular 2. Anyhow, the issue is this…the regular stores (Khols, for instance) dont care size 0 and most of the time not even a size 2. The only option I have is to go to their juniors section and buy Levis in a juniors size 1 (those fit, but of course they are the "young looking", low rider, ripped up pocket, sometimes a strategic whole in the leg…I do what I can to find the nicest looking pair). Then I can usually find a polo slim fit tshirt in a small and dry it on high so that I have a couple of nice looking tops, but this is what I call "play clothes", meaning my daughter (15 months) and I are hanging out at the mall or grocery store. BUT…the other day I was on a mad hunt for a business suit for a job interview. I went to all of our local malls (I live in a popular metropolitan area and have all the good stores available to me…well, not like NY or anything…but everyone else seems happy with the availability). The best I could do was a plain black suit in a size 2 that was the most boring thing Ive ever seen. I needed it for the next day so there was nothing I could do, but it killed me to pay good money for what looked like a boring ole mans suits…blah! Back to the problem…do any of you fashionistas know what I can do, where I can go??? I want business professional, business casual, and some nicer "go out to dinner with hubby" and some sexier clothes, for times when its not me and my toddler hanging out, but where Im actually working or spending time with my husband or the girls out. You know, everyone thinks thin women have it made when they go shopping, but all I find on the racks are size 16, size 14, etc. This is a real problem. If I get this job Im going to need a solid wardrobe, and soon. I keep thinking of how hard it was to find one suit (which was unflattering, plain boring ole black, not really the right size anyhow, and even so…it was the ONLY thing I could find…ahhh!). I dont know if there is anything online I could try, or any stores Im not thinking of (we have Macys, Lord and Taylor, Perisian, Express, Nordstrom, BCBG, Bebe, Limited, Juicy, Gucci, Talbots, Ann Taylor/Loft, New York and Co, Neiman Marcus, etc – you get it, its your basic Mall options). Obviously, the only thing I cannot do is hire a professional stylist to help me, or jet set off to NYC and embody Carrie Bradshaw for the day (ha!). Can any one think of something Im missing? I hate to look sloppy in big clothes, or to be forced into clothing thats not appropriate for my age (like I want to be in an abercrombie sweatshirt with a big 69 on the back). Ladies, you know how good you feel when youre in an outfit that really fits those curves (no matter what size you are), and you love the cut and and color and youre really WEARING it…its amazing, right?!! I Never feel that way. Short of beefing up to a size 12 (which is sooooo widely available in my area), what to do???!!! Please help me with ideas, Im so saddened and frustrated by this! I work very hard to maintain a healthy lifestyle and as a side reward, I should feel great in my clothes…but I dont. I feel sloppy in baggy clothes and I feel like I have to shop with a "take whatever you can find" kind of attitude. Thats no way to do it. So ladies…what can I do?? Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!
PS: The last time I actually HAD options was when I was pregnant…have you ever heard someone say that before!!
i need some websites to find really cute nambrand clothes fo toddler clothes please no ebay sites it sucks!
I need some good names for a baby and toddler reused toy and clothes sale..kind of like kids closet connections but something original and that will stick in peoples mind…any ideas???
My first trashed his furniture as a toddler so I want to wait a few years to buy a good dresser. In the mean time for an alternative, I was just wondering if there’s any reason I can’t have plastic storage bins to hold clothes in my baby’s room. I won’t install the little wheels on the bottom.
he is five and right now is curled up in his sisters princess toddler bed watching a princess movie. she is three and they each have their own rooms and tvs. i heard from his older brother who is seven that he dresses in her clothes, tights, panties and wants to wear jewelry and high heels. what does this mean psychological. his dad had a fit and told him not to ever do that when he was at his moms house or even here. one time he came over here with his finger nails painted because his grandmother who lives with him painted them dark. i wonder what this means. it hasn’t happened just a few times thought, its happened alot over there at his moms house. he is very interested in all of my gaudy jewelry and likes to play house and dolls with his little sister even though he has his own really cool room. his big brother and him play but now he likes big boy things and our five year old is stuck between toddler and big boy.
My son, Andrew is almost 2, he is 32lbs, and about 37in tall. According to growth charts he is in the 90-100th percentile for his age(has been all his life). He is in clothing ment for 3-4 year olds. He was 9lbs at birth and 22in long. I am only 5’1" (thin build) his dad is 6’1" (average build)
Andrew can run great, climb stairs by himself, and if you hold a metal bar in front of you he can grab it and support all his weight and hang there for 10 or more seconds.
The other day he was carrying a full milk jug in each hand.
Is this growth/muscle strength average? Looking for either knowledge or other moms who’s toddlers are just as big and strong as mine….
