Lots of questions!
You can have multiple registries, yes. But I would avoid putting the same items on them so you don’t end up getting multiples of things. If your families from each state want to throw you one then they can. But do you really want to do all that traveling?
If you are due in June then you probably want to wait until around the end of April, first part of May to have the shower. You can always do it earlier, this is just the typical time most women have them. As far as hosting it it is usually a friend or family member. People usually do not throw showers for themselves.
Anyone can buy the crib, stroller, etc. Just don’t EXPECT people to. I would think it would be a close family member that would buy the bigger things for you. Sometimes though you have to buy them for yourself.
People can order things online if that certain gift is only available online. Just make sure your invitations are sent out ahead of time to allow for this.
You can also type in "Baby showers" and a list should come up for different websites that will tell you about them(games, food, favors, etiquette, etc.).
Someone will probably offer to host a shower. You can’t really ask anyone.
As for registering, I registered at Target. I skipped Wal Mart because I wanted specific things from Target.
You want to get things in a multitude of prices. I had things from $3 up to $100.
I would not register stroller, and other big items more than once. People will ask where you are registered, and what you still need. I had a group of friends go together for stroller and car seat. You will get most of what you register and some duplicates.
With your situation, if you are willing to travel, you might have more than one shower.
Do you have what to expect when you’re expecting? There is a guide of what to register there.
First register what you need, then what you want.
You will need car seat, stroller, crib, possibly a playpen. You could also register baby tub, things to bathe baby with, diapers, etc. People usually buy what they want for clothes, so you might want to skip that.
Go ahead and register online items. Those would be good choices for the out of towners.
I was due May 20 and had shower mid March because my sister was going to be in town from TX. Just do what works best for you and person giving shower. I would say about a month ahead would be good in case baby comes early.
My mom hosted my baby shower. I registered at target and babiesrus…i would choose one design for the stroller and etc. and only put it on one registry. Register for like onesies, hats, socks, bibs, diapers (cloth and disposable), the bottles you want, lots of baby washclothes and baby towels and things that you your gonna need yeah since it is your first your going to have a big long list. And keep a list for yourself and cross off things as you get them. Usually family will but the big stuff but also some times people who are going to be at the shower will go half and half with someone else to get you the big items…start shopping now for little stuff….but when YOU buy stuff but neutral and like 3-6 months cause you might get lots of 0-3 or newborn unless you say that you would prefer larger. Also if things are only online put gift cards are welcome. That way you can buy the stuff that is online from that store with the gift card. hope I was some help and good luck!
Usually a family member or friend hosts it.
Yes you can have more than one registry, but don’t put the same things on it as you’ll end up getting two, unless you plan on doing it just so you can take it back and get cash, *i hope you aren’t, but some do*
You can have more than one shower, no problem, but traveling that late in pregnancy isn’t the best idea, so if you can plan a time when everyone can come or two seperate dates that everyone can come to you.
Usually you, your parents or the father’s parents buy the "big" stuff.
You can put anything you want on the registry, from clothes and bibs to cribs and strollers.
And you should have your shower about two months before your due, so end of April, begining of May would be perfect for you.
