Have you tried Stride Rite? They are a little on the expensive side, but they can fit just about any baby feet out there…LOL! I bought my Daughter her 1st pair of walking shoes there and they worked GREAT!
Also, I LOVE Sears! Thats where I buy almost all my Daughters shoes now! They have a great selection, and they even sell Wide Width shoes for babies!!!!
EDIT: Also, NEW BALANCE shoes are wonderful with babies with chubby feet cause they make them in Wide Width!!!

what about a pair of crocs, those rubbery sandal clog things, you can get cheaper versions of them in a lot of dollar or more stores, they are quite wide and really comfy, plus they dry really quick if they get wet in the summer. they are open backed and have a strap that goes around the back of the foot so they shouldn’t dig in and they are too wide for a lot of kid’s feet so they should be wide enough for his.
Hay get with your sons Doctor on this one please. This may require some special shoes for a while.
The discount stores like Walmart are not going to have shoes to fit at this age.
My son always had to have shoes at the baby specialty stores for wide feet.
Well here is what we did….we took our daughter to a good shoe store, had them measure her feet..and then they ordered us a nice pair of shoes to fit propertly. I know that can be expensive.
Have you tried the wide shoes? "Crocs" seem to work well on chubby feet…but they also make sandals that have all velcro straps that you don’t have the shove the foot into..you can undo all the straps and set the foot in and then adjust the straps over the feet. Look for thsoe kind.
I would find something very, very flexible and with adjustable straps.
I did report him…hope you did too
have you tried pedipeds?

I was just watching a video on, baby center, earlier this evening about babies that are just learning to walk. So I just have to pass this info on to you.
They say that when a baby starts walking, it’s best they don’t wear shoes. Leaving a babies feet bare helps them feel the floor beneath them. Which is important for first time walkers. Also, shoes can get in the way and cause the baby to trip, when they grip the floor.
So , I say let those cute chubby feet run free!!!
BTW… my baby has chubby little feet too, and I wouldn’t want then any other way! hahahha
Reported for you….
argh. But, we were at WalMart and they had lil croc looking shoes (that had a monkey face on them, lol) and they fit him really well. They aren’t tennis shoes but I figured they will work for being outside so he isn’t bare foot. And I just discovered Robeez today at our Whole foods store, but they did not fit his lil chunka monka feet on the top.
As for the question, lol… my son has chubby feet too, lol… when he was little he looked like a baby monkey so we called him Benji-monkey (obviously his name is benjamin) which got shortened to Monka (pronounced Munka), now he is 9 months and has filled out a little, lol.. so now we call him our Chunka Monka. LOL.
All the suggestions are great! I am going to try them as well. The only things I could think of were more highend brand shoes like Nike or Reebok. I don’t know if they still have them, but when my older sons were little they made shoes by reebok called Weebok and those fit really well. But.. hubby cleaned out our garage one month before we got preg (go figure) and so I no longer have all those great shoes
LOL, I know I didn’t really answer your question.. just wanted to share. Gotta love those lil chubbers feet!!!!
are you crafty? my mother made my baby a pair of shoes and she said it was really easy. she’s a sewer and I kiiind of am (emphasis on the kiiind of), but it seemed easy. if you have a salvation army near you, you can buy an old leather jacket or something to make them for him, so they’ll actually fit him…

just an idea
I think it seems pretty easy, even though I don’t have much experience in the sewing department myself. could be an afternoon project! regardless, good luck with the shoes!
